“Wrestling Memories”
2005 October 5th
I remember when I was about 12 and my brother Lucas was
about 16 and we loved wrestling so much we wrestled out the back
and at my cousins place cos he had a trampoline.
I remember this one time we had a match and it was at my cousin's
and we arranged that it would end with me giving him the sharpshooter.
The match went on for about an hour it was hot and we were
sweating like water, and my brother was putting it over me most
of the match and he was much bigger than me and he was really
buggered and he picked me up to do a tombstone and cos he was so
tired he got me half way round and dropped me right on my neck.
i couldn’t move my neck he was assuming I was ok so he kept on
beating me up i just layed there and didn’t move i eventually rolled
off the tramp and he new that it was serious, and chucked his boots on and left.
he new he was in big trouble cos mum hated us wrestling she
always went off! and told us not to wrestle.
i finally stoped crying and went up home i still remember walking
up that great big hill and couldn’t move my neck i came in my room
and layed there mum was there playing the computer and she
never took any notice after a while she asked me what was
wrong i had to tell her cos if my neck was serious i would
of had to tell her later, anyhow she went off she just told
me to lay there for a couple of hours or so and Lucas got
yelled at really bad and that was my last ever match on a trampoline.
it was really scary at the time we watched wrestling every tuesday
and in the commercials it would always have this add going through
a few major accidents in wrestling then it would say "don’t try this at home"
we would never take any notice of that until i nearly broke my neck.
